Family Accommodations

If you are from out of town, there are a variety of options for short- and long-term accommodations for patients and families of Strong Memorial Hospital. Please read through the following options to see which works best for you.

URMC Hotel and Lodging Services

The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) has contracted with the RIT Inn & Conference Center to offer significantly reduced rates for Strong Memorial Hospital patients and families. For reservations, please call the URMC Hotel and Lodging Services at (585) 275-7581.

Hotels

There are many hotels listed in our Hotel Guide located within close proximity to Strong Memorial Hospital. These hotels represent a range of rates accommodating economy to deluxe budgets and often offer a special rate for patients, families and hospital visitors upon request. To obtain room rates or to make a reservation, please contact the hotel directly and mention you are a Strong patient or family member when you call.

Cancer Patients and Their Families

The B. Thomas Golisano Hope Lodge Hospitality House provides free accommodations for cancer patients and their caregiver who come from outside Monroe County and need medical care but do not need to be admitted to the hospital. Pediatric Patients and Their Families

For our pediatric patients, the presence of a parent or guardian often provides much needed comfort and reassurance. That’s why our younger patients are provided with a fold-out chair or couch in their hospital rooms. Parents or guardians are always welcome to spend the night using these fold-out beds so they can be close to their child.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester provide affordable lodging and emotional support for any family who needs to be near their child during their child’s hospital stay. Here in the Rochester area, we are fortunate to offer you two Ronald McDonald House locations.

  • The first is a seven bedroom Ronald McDonald House actually located within Golisano Children’s Hospital. This unique environment provides a welcoming place for parents of our most critically ill children to rest and recover, while still being just moments away from their child.   • The second location is a 20-bedroom retreat located within easy walking distance of Golisano Children’s Hospital on 333 Westmoreland Drive. Van transportation is also available. Call (585) 442-5437 for more information.

Both Ronald McDonald Houses provide parents with a warm and peaceful refuge along with the support of others who are enduring a similar experience.
